Ugandan Visitor and Jackfruit
Students had an opportunity to meet a special guest, Francis, who I met and did research with while in Uganda last summer. He came to St. Louis (Washington University) to learn more about our health and educational systems that support children and women. The children were able to learn more about the Ugandan culture, schools and foods. They were also able to taste jackfruit and (most) LOVED it.
1st Graders & The Brain
1st Graders are learning about parts of the brain and functions as they create a model using clay and play various brain games and do some experiments.
Creative Convention
All 3rd grade Project Plus students in the district came together to meet each other and participate in 4 team challenges that encouraged them to work together creatively and cooperatively. Afterwards, they enjoyed going to CiCi's Pizza for lunch.
History Museum Guest Speaker
3rd - 5th Grade students had an opportunity to learn more about the Civil Rights in St. Louis exhibit at the Missouri History Museum. A professional actor-interpreter told the powerful story of St. Louis’s civil rights history. The visit included engaging discussions, a historical performance, and hands-on activities designed to help students understand the actions and multiple perspectives of St. Louis's civil rights activists.
Geometry All Around Us
2nd Graders have learned a lot about geometric shapes in art and all around us. They are completing their unique cities using geometry.
